Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Teacher of Science, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A-Level) in your specialism.
  • Inspire students to develop a strong understanding and passion for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering an inquiry-based approach.
  • Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and contributing to student reports.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Participate in and lead extracurricular science activities, enriching the learning experience for students.
  • Act as a form tutor (for full-time roles) and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Proven experience teaching Science successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential, with experience at Key Stage 5 being highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for science and a commitment to inspiring the next generation of scientists.
  • Excellent subject knowledge across the science curriculum and the ability to teach all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
  • A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
