Job summary

Heathside Walton-on-Thames is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science to join our thriving Science faculty from January 2027. This full-time, permanent post is based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, within an outstanding Ofsted-rated school.

You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, deliver engaging practical work, develop students' working scientifically skills, and contribute to a vibrant STEM extracurricular programme.

• Differentiate teaching to support all learners from emerging scientists to high attainers.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 with engaging lessons rooted in secure scientific knowledge.
• Bring biology, chemistry and physics to life through practical work and investigations.
• Plan creative, structured lessons developing working scientifically skills and data analysis.
• Use effective assessment strategies to monitor progress in scientific understanding and practical skills.
• Differentiate teaching to ensure all learners can access, enjoy and excel in Science.
• Contribute to STEM clubs, science competitions, trips, guest speakers, or project-based learning.
