Science Teacher for a secondary school in Derby

Position Details
  • Type: Full time, starting September 2025. Potentially permanent for the right candidate
  • Hours: 8.30-16.00, term time only
  • Start date: September 2025
  • Qualifications: QTS Science teacher or equivalent with secondary school experience and strong behaviour management
  • Pay: £135-200 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)
About the Role

We are excited to announce a full-time, long-term Science Teacher position at an exceptional secondary school in Mansfield. We seek a dedicated, passionate educator with a strong science background to inspire and empower students.

Responsibilities
  1. Science Instruction: Deliver engaging lessons, foster curiosity and critical thinking.
  2. Curriculum Development: Create lesson plans, assessments, and adapt teaching to diverse learners.
  3. Student Engagement: Maintain an inclusive classroom, motivate students, and develop scientific skills.
  4. Assessment & Progress: Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and collaborate on improvement strategies.
  5. Professional Collaboration: Work with the Science Department to improve teaching quality and share best practices.
Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent (considering ECT, PGCE, FE instructors)
  • Degree in a relevant science field
  • Secondary school teaching experience
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for science
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to student growth and curiosity
