Burton Borough is a vibrant and inclusive mixed school of 1160 students, situated on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border within the pleasant market town of Newport. Our location provides easy access to and from Shrewsbury, Stafford, Telford and Wolverhampton.

• Has a real enthusiasm for their subject and a commitment to teaching science.
• Excellent science knowledge
• Can deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote students’ scientific curiosity.
• Is able to instill in students a love of science.
• Recognises the importance of developing science capital to ensure student engagement.
• Make the delivery of science skills an integral part of every lesson.
• Values the contributions of all students and personalises their lessons accordingly.
• Contributes to the science team, taking an active part of delivering the science curriculum.
• Recognise the value of learning beyond the classroom in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live.
