Science Teacher (Biology Specialism)
Location: Long Eaton, Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire (NG10)
Daily Rate: 185 - 250 per day (Paid to teacher scale)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Maternity Cover
Start Date: End of November 2025 - Until July 2026

The Role

Long Term Futures are working in collaboration with a secondary school in the Long Eaton area (NG10) to appoint a full-time Science Teacher (Biology Specialism) for a maternity cover position. The role will begin at the end of November and continue until at least the end of the academic year.

This position requires teaching Biology as your specialism, alongside General Science across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Biology.
  • Teach General Science as part of the wider Science curriculum.
  • Plan, assess and track pupil progress in line with school policies.
  • Maintain excellent classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards across the Science faculty.
  • Teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - ECTs welcome to apply.
  • Experience teaching Biology as a specialism, with the ability to teach General Science.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning.
