A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester is seeking a passionate Biology Teacher to join their dedicated science department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage KS3 and KS4 students with practical, creative, and knowledge-rich biology lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality biology lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to foster understanding and enthusiasm for biology.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Contribute to the development and delivery of extracurricular science activities such as clubs, trips, and projects to enrich the curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues within the science department and across the school to promote cross-curricular learning and support school priorities.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in lessons, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but exceptional candidates without QTS will be considered.
Strong subject knowledge in biology with a passion for teaching and learning.
Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4, with an understanding of examination specifications and assessment criteria.
Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEN and EAL.
Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives.
Contract Details:
Full-time role, long-term supply or permanent position available.
Term time only, with school holidays in line with the academic calendar.
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
