Job summary

Hoop Education is seeking a qualified Secondary Science Teacher to cover KS3–KS4 across Wrexham schools. You will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned science lessons and work with pre-set plans where provided.

The role offers Day-to-Day, Medium-Term and Long-Term opportunities during term-time. The ideal candidate has QTS, recent secondary science classroom experience, an enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply), and registration with the EWC (or willingness to register).

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.
• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.
• Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability across different school environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Science lessons using pre-set plans where provided.
• Create a positive, inclusive, well-managed classroom environment.
• Encourage curiosity, investigation, and critical thinking in Science subjects.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.

Overview

Location: Secondary Schools across Wrexham

Daily Rate: From £172.98+ per day

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract Types: Day-to-Day, Medium-Term & Long-Term Opportunities (Term-Time Only)

Role

As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in engaging and inspiring pupils across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5), delivering high-quality Science lessons that spark curiosity and promote scientific thinking.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned Science lessons using pre-set plans where provided
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Encouraging curiosity, investigation, and critical thinking within Science subjects
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Providing constructive feedback and supporting pupil progress
• Working collaboratively with school staff to ensure continuity of learning
