Job description

TeacherActive is delighted to be working with an exceptional special school that inspires their pupils every day. This school provides a high standard of education and focuses on secondary students with Autism and MLD needs and provides them with a daily structure and routine to ensure the best learning environment for their individual needs.

The school is looking for a determined Science Teacher with the potential of a permanent position. The successful Science Teacher will be confident and adaptable in working from Key Stage 3 / KS3 to Key Stage 4 / KS4 helping them to meet their milestones and giving them 1 to 1 support. The applicant would also have to be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours.

The successful Science Teacher will have the following:

• QTS (required), ECTs are welcome to apply!
• Experience working with ASD and MLD
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Excellent classroom management
