Science Teacher

Location: Tewkesbury

Salary: From £162 day to £251 per day paid to scale

Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:15am to 3:15pm

Starting date: 22nd of April until 22nd of July

Affinity Workforce is seeking a science teacher to join Tewkesbury's historic secondary school, part of the Cabot Learning Federation. Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4 classes.
  • Inspire students with a passion for science, adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on assignments, tests, and practical experiments.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive laboratory environment while managing behavior effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to staff meetings, planning, and administrative tasks.
  • Stay updated with developments in the science curriculum and participate in professional development.
  • Support students' academic and personal growth, encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and teamwork.

What we are looking for:

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage students effectively in science.
  • You must also pass an enhanced background (DBS) check.
  • A strong understanding of the national science curriculum.
  • An unwavering passion for education and fostering student achievement.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude to support students in their learning journey.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and previous experience teaching science in a UK school are desirable.
