Science Teacher
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Daily Supply | Long-Term Opportunity

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Science Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of scientists? GSL Education is delighted to be working with a highly regarded secondary school in Newcastle, seeking a committed individual to deliver high-quality Science teaching across KS3 and KS4 – with the potential for KS5.

About the Role:
This role is ideal for a Science Teacher who can deliver engaging and interactive lessons, bringing the subject to life through hands-on experiments and real-world applications. You’ll join a supportive Science department with excellent resources and a shared commitment to student success.

Responsibilities as a Science Teacher:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 if applicable)
  2. Inspire students to develop a love for Science and pursue academic excellence
  3. Differentiate content to cater to a range of abilities and learning styles
  4. Mark and assess students’ work in line with national curriculum standards
  5. Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and school life

Requirements to be a Science Teacher:

  1. UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  2. Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  3. Previous experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  4. Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  5. A valid, enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
