Full-Time Science Teacher - Secondary Alternative Provision (SEMH)

Location: New Milton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, ongoing

Are you a passionate and resilient Science teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Teaching Personnel is currently working in partnership with a Secondary Alternative Provision that caters to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. From September, this fantastic school is seeking a dedicated full-time Science teacher to join their team.

  • A nurturing and supportive environment for pupils aged 11-16 who require an alternative to mainstream education.

  • A strong focus on emotional development, positive behaviour strategies, and individual progress.

  • Experienced and committed staff who work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of each learner.

  • Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons (KS3-KS4) across all three disciplines.

  • Adapt teaching styles to support pupils with SEMH and a range of additional needs.

  • Create a safe and structured learning environment that promotes both academic and personal growth.

  • Collaborate with pastoral and support staff to implement tailored behaviour and learning strategies.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level, ideally within an SEN/SEMH or alternative provision setting.

  • Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.

  • Committed to helping vulnerable young people re-engage with their education.

  • Dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
