We have an excellent opportunity for a Science Teacher who is looking for short term role, in a Secondary school in the Nelson area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in April 2025, with shortlisting currently underway.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Planning and preparing lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Assessing student progress through regular marking, feedback, and tests
  • Supporting students in developing practical and theoretical scientific skills
  • Managing classroom behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Preparing students for exams and helping with revision techniques
  • Participating in departmental meetings to review and improve teaching strategies
  • Organising and leading extracurricular activities such as science clubs or trips
  • Communicating with parents regarding student progress and concerns

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• Relevant qualifications
• Proven experience of teaching Science up to KS4
• Strong knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Two education or school-based references
