A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Manchester. The role will start as soon as possible, will be full time and will be on a temp to perm basis.

This position is open to ECTs as well as experienced science teachers and will be considered on equal merit.

You will be required to teach science to Key Stage 3 & 4 classes and become fully involved within the department and school, like a permanent staff member. Responsibilities include attending departmental meetings, being available for parents’ evenings, and planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge students. Experience in leading science-based after-school clubs or revision sessions is advantageous but not essential.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in a science-related subject.
• Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) in science.
• Previous experience working with young people (references required).
• Experience of teaching in a secondary school (references required).
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year (training can be provided).
• Up-to-date Prevent awareness training issued within the last 3 years (training can be provided).
• Up-to-date behaviour management & FGM training (training can be provided if needed).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost.
• Provide a minimum of two professional references.
