Job Vacancy: Science Cover Teacher (Long-Term Sickness Cover)

Position: Science Cover Teacher

Full-time/Part-time: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher to cover a long-term sickness absence at a well-established secondary school and sixth form in L25, South Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring full engagement and student progress.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Preparing and marking assignments, tests, and exams in line with the school's assessment policies.
  • Tracking and reporting on student progress and providing feedback to both students and parents.
  • Collaborating with the science department and other staff to ensure a seamless teaching experience.
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding and health and safety policies are adhered to within the classroom.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Previous experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and examination requirements (e.g., GCSE and BTEC).
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references including your most recent employment reference.
  • Have a child workforce enhanced DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure.
