Job description

James Ray Recruitment is working closely with our client based in Liverpool to recruit an outstanding Science teacher to join this leading academy. This position has arisen at an exciting time, with science taught across all three key stages, including all three sciences being offered at A Level.

We are looking for a talented science teacher to join an outstanding existing team and will consider applications from all specialisms. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our close-knit team, with a strong CPD offer as part of the role. The department works with other science teams across the trust and follows a trust-wide curriculum that is fully resourced, with feedback rather than marking as standard practice.

This is a full-time timetable, covering on a long-term placement for the remainder of the academic year. The ideal start date is October 2025 with the school willing to extend to secure the best candidate for their students. You must hold a QTS and have experience teaching KS4.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience teaching Science in Key Stage 3 to Key stage 5
  • Passion for their subject and be a great practitioner with high expectations and good classroom management
  • Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills and the ability to contribute to a team
  • Willingness to show commitment to the school's vision and values
  • A desire and passion to make a real difference to the students
