Job description

Science Teacher
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract: Long Term, Part Time (4 days a week)

GSL Education London Branch is looking for a passionate Science Teacher to join a thriving comprehensive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. If you are an experienced Science Teacher or a newly qualified teacher with a drive to inspire young minds, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging and effective science lessons.
  2. Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5.
  3. Encourage students to develop a love for science through interactive and practical learning.
  4. Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support where needed.
  5. Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  6. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum.
  7. Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and academic excellence.

Requirements for a Science Teacher:
  1. Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  2. Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school is desirable.
  3. Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  4. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  5. Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  6. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
