Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a passionate Science Teacher for a secondary school in the Chelmsford area. The role suits experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECT) who inspire curiosity and help students develop scientific understanding.

You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons, practical experiments and differentiated learning to suit varied abilities. A strong commitment to safeguarding and high expectations is essential.

Formación

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary setting, including placements.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.
• Ability to plan engaging, differentiated lessons for KS3/KS4.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3/KS4.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics per national curriculum and exam specs.
• Prepare students for GCSE Science exams (Combined and separate sciences).
• Deliver practical experiments safely and effectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is passionate about inspiring young people and helping them develop a genuine interest in Science.

We are looking for a teacher who can bring Science to life through engaging lessons, practical experiments and creative teaching approaches. The successful candidate will play an important role in encouraging curiosity, developing scientific understanding and helping students achieve their full academic potential.

The role will involve teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students of varying abilities and contributing positively to a supportive secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with the national curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
• Preparing students for GCSE Science examinations, including Combined Science and relevant separate Science qualifications.
• Delivering practical experiments and scientific demonstrations safely and effectively.
• Encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving and scientific enquiry.
• Differentiating lessons to support students with a range of abilities, learning styles and additional educational needs.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Identifying gaps in students' understanding and implementing targeted interventions where required.
• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and establishing high expectations.
• Creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Supporting students in developing scientific literacy, analytical skills and confidence.
• Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider school team.
• Contributing to curriculum planning, resource development and departmental activities.
• Following school safeguarding policies and health and safety procedures.

What Are We Looking For?

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
• Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting, including relevant teaching placements.
• Have strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.
• Are confident delivering Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Can plan engaging and differentiated lessons that support students of all abilities.
• Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
