Job summary

A leading education staffing agency is seeking a qualified Science Teacher for a high-performing secondary school in Barnet. The role involves delivering inspiring lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics to KS3 and KS4 students, collaborating with a supportive Science department, and engaging in extracurricular activities. Candidates should have a Science degree and experience in teaching. This full-time, permanent position starts in September 2025.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent completed or in progress (ECTs welcome).
  • Science degree (or related field) with any combination of Physics, Chemistry, or Biology specialization.
  • Experience or training in KS3/4 teaching; confident classroom presence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging KS3 and GCSE Science lessons.
  • Track and support student progress through assessment and feedback.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues on schemes of learning and resources.
  • Inspire a love of science and demonstrate practical experimentation in well-equipped labs.
  • Engage in the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral duty.

Role Overview

We re recruiting a motivated and qualified Science Teacher for a high-performing secondary school in Barnet many rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, providing strong professional development and engaging learning environments.

You will deliver inspiring lessons in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics to KS3 and KS4 students, collaborate in a supportive Science department, and be backed by visible leadership and agency assistance every step of the way.
