Salary: GBP30000 - GBP41333 per annum

Science Teacher

Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Full Time, Long-Term, or Permanent Position
Salary: £31,650 - £41,333 (dependent on prior experience)
Start Date: February and April start dates available.

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher eager to make a lasting impact in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? Simply Education is seeking committed Science Teachers to join our specialist SEND and SEMH schools in Cheshire.

About the Role

As a Science Teacher in a specialist provision, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging, accessible, and inspiring lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of your students. Teaching within this environment requires creativity, patience, and a deep understanding of how to support learners who may experience barriers to education. You will be working with small class sizes, enabling you to build strong relationships with your students and provide the focused support they need to succeed.

In addition to delivering high-quality lessons, you will be responsible for implementing effective behaviour management strategies to create a structured and positive learning environment. Building strong rapport with students is key to fostering their confidence and enthusiasm for learning. A genuine passion for your subject and a commitment to inspiring curiosity in science will be essential in engaging and motivating students.

This role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators who are committed to fostering a love for science and empowering students to achieve their potential. A key part of your role will be preparing students for their GCSEs, ensuring they have the confidence and skills required to progress academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons tailored to the diverse learning needs of students with SEND and SEMH.
  • Use innovative and engaging teaching methods to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for science.
  • Differentiate lesson content to ensure accessibility for all students, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
  • Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and other support staff to facilitate student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote growth and achievement.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide holistic support for students.
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies to create a structured and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Science Teacher (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome) with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Science across multiple key stages.
  • A passion for working with students with SEND and SEMH needs, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to engage in specialist training.
