Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: MPS1 – UPS3 FTE (£31,650–£49,084 per annum)
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a thriving secondary academy in Corby to recruit a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time maternity cover role, starting in September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and supportive Science department where student outcomes are on the rise, and interest in A-Level science is growing year on year.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
Support pupils’ academic progress through high-quality teaching and assessment
Create a positive learning environment in line with the school’s expectations and routines
Participate in form tutor responsibilities as required
Engage in ongoing CPD, research-informed practice, and trust-wide networks
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and continuously review and improve teaching practice
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A degree in Science and UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS)
A proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students
Experience teaching science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum and pedagogical best practice
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
