Those Huge Small Victories

Our teachers are fulfilled by the idea of making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. There are many ups and downs, and for some of our young people, sitting through a lesson can be a big win. We call these huge small victories. While they may seem small on the surface, they add up to make a big difference.

Get out what you put in

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll help them learn, develop their abilities, and raise their self-esteem. You need to be resilient and dedicated, but those huge small victories will make you proud.

It can be a tough journey, but the positive steps forward will more than make up for it. As a Teacher at Witherslack Group, you’ll receive all the support you need to succeed, from in-house psychologists to teaching assistants and therapy professionals. Your colleagues will be experts in their fields, the school will be well-resourced, and we’ll support you every step of the way to build a rewarding teaching career.

One of the best environments in SEND

Luxborough Court School is a new, purpose-built school for 150 pupils aged 5–19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Facilities include a large sports hall with changing rooms (the site was formerly a Premier League football club’s training ground), a bespoke 6th form suite, and various spaces for therapeutic intervention and support. The school has extensive outdoor areas, a large courtyard garden, and separate playgrounds for secondary and junior students, with a multi-use games area.

It is conveniently located with good public transport links, including Chigwell Station less than a mile away, offering Central Line services to London and Essex. The M11 motorway is nearby at Junction 4.

What we do for you

We believe you’ll do great things. For your dedication, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package. With us, you can bring learning to life and make a real difference in the lives of our young people. You will also receive:

  • Training: Full induction and on-the-job training
  • Holiday: Full school holidays, rewarding your hard work
  • Progression: Most of our head teachers and leaders have been promoted from within
  • Flexible benefits: Options to customize benefits like life insurance; see our benefits here
  • Pension: Various pension schemes, including Teachers’ Pension and attractive TPS alternatives
  • Wellbeing: Tools and advice, including employee assistance programs
  • Medical cover: Reimbursements for opticians, dentists, and discounts
  • Facilities: Modern, well-equipped working environments; see our schools here
  • Refer a Friend scheme: Earn a £1,000 bonus for successful referrals
Bring your whole self to work

Our young people come from diverse backgrounds and have different needs. Our workforce reflects this diversity, enabling us to engage, encourage, and inspire our pupils to be themselves. You’ll be more than a Science Teacher if you:

  • - Have a ‘can do’ attitude and be a team player
  • - Have a genuine passion for science and impacting young lives
  • - Can relate your teaching to each pupil and build strong relationships
  • - Have previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status
Interested in joining us?

Our young people deserve the best future, and we aim to provide that for our teams as well. You deserve a fulfilling career with a purpose-led employer in an environment that allows you to be yourself.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This role requires an enhanced DBS check (cost covered) and an online search. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all community sections.
