Job summary

Cover People is recruiting Science Teachers to work across secondary schools in Salford, with roles primarily day-to-day and short-term supply and potential for longer opportunities depending on school needs.

You should hold QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification and have experience teaching Science at secondary level with strong subject knowledge. You will deliver engaging lessons, adapt to pupil needs, manage behaviour, and support practical science activities.

Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities

Cover People are currently recruiting Science Teachers to work across secondary schools in Salford.

These opportunities are primarily day-to-day and short-term supply, giving teachers the flexibility to choose work around their availability. Longer-term placements may also become available where schools require ongoing Science teaching support.

We're keen to hear from teachers who can deliver engaging Science lessons and confidently support pupils across different abilities and year groups.

Depending on the school and assignment, you may be responsible for:

• Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Following existing lesson plans and school resources
• Adapting teaching to meet different learning needs
• Maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment
• Managing behaviour effectively and establishing clear expectations
• Supporting pupils with their understanding of scientific concepts
• Encouraging participation and maintaining engagement
• Supporting practical Science activities in line with school procedures

We're looking for reliable, adaptable and confident Science Teachers who can settle quickly into new school environments.

You should have:

Teachers with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics are encouraged to apply, as are ECTs with relevant secondary Science experience.
