Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:
  • Work in the Science Department with a variety of learners, meeting standards of work
  • Provide additional tutorial and pastoral support to students across the College as required
  • Deliver T levels, BTEC level 2, and HE Science (biology and health units)
Core Purpose:
  • Teach assigned students, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their diverse learning and social needs
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • Monitor and assess student progress to enhance learning and personal growth
  • Undertake duties as a Form Tutor when required, in accordance with the role description
  • Perform duties as specified by the current STPC document
Requirements of a Science Teacher:
  • A UK-recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent
  • Experience in delivering the subject
  • A science-related Degree, preferably in Biology
  • A current DBS
