ROLE SUMMARY:

As part of our strategy to continue to grow and provide our services internationally, we are advertising for a talented and ambitious teacher of Science to join our school, with the ability to teach General Science at Key Stage 3, iGCSE Science at KS4 (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and the ability to teach Physics at Key Stage 5. Experience of teaching the IB Diploma Programme would also be an advantage.

Our teachers work from home in the UK to deliver live lessons via our online classrooms where students are encouraged to participate and join in with activities and if you are interested in joining us to improve the lives of our students, we would love to hear from you!

Location – Based in the UK - working remotely from home

Start Date - 19th August 2024 for September 2024

Salary Range - £34,500 - £40,950 per annum.

Live Teaching can be between 8:30am – 4:40pm

An extracurricular activity is mandatory for all teachers moving forward and will take place twice a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school
  • Be up to date on current research and emerging pedagogy and disseminate this to staff through active engagement in professional development with the learning community
  • Take a leading role in maintaining a positive and inspirational learning climate in the subject specialism and, where appropriate, the integration of your subject learning across the curriculum
  • Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and the development of priorities for improvement
  • Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model by their professional conduct and disposition
  • Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and any class or group of students
  • Provide guidance and advice to students on educational matters
  • Provide or contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to students in a timely manner
  • Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities
  • Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Ideally the candidate will be qualified up to degree level in a related subject area and have a recognised teaching qualification, a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status.

  • Experience of working in state or independent school sector
  • Experience with creating resources and the ability to review and enhance our current course delivery
  • Computer Literate with the ability to teach online using technology applications

Skills and attributes – DESIRABLE

  • Current or previous experience in a pastoral role

  • Knowledge of best ways to engage students in your subject of expertise.
  • The capability to drive best practices and have a reputation for delivering high quality material.
  • The ability to work well within a team, while having the courage to raise new ideas and support the implementation within the department, with the Leaders of Learning.
