We are seeking a qualified and experienced Science Lead Teacher to join a dedicated team at a specialist SEN school based in King's Lynn.

You will lead the science curriculum across the school, working alongside skilled professionals to develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that ignite a love of learning in every pupil.

What we're looking for:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in science education
  • DBS on the update service
  • Proven experience or strong interest in working with students with special educational needs
  • A passion for inclusive education and curriculum development
  • Leadership experience or clear potential to lead a subject across a school
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and team collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the science curriculum across the school, ensuring it is inclusive, engaging, and appropriately adapted for learners with SEN
  • Develop schemes of work, resources, and lesson plans tailored to students' individual needs and EHCP targets
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to support student progress and wellbeing
  • Use a range of assessment tools to monitor and track pupil attainment, progress, and engagement in science
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and independence
  • Provide subject-specific training and support to colleagues, contributing to whole-school CPD
  • Be an active member of the middle leadership team, contributing to the school's development plan and strategic goals
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures in science teaching and practical work are upheld
