Job summary

Wayman Education is assisting an independent secondary school in Camden to recruit a dedicated Science Technician. The role focuses on preparing laboratories, equipment and resources for practical science lessons and helping pupils gain hands-on experience.

The technician will follow health and safety procedures, support practical exams, and assist teachers with demonstrations and other departmental activities. Start date is as soon as possible, with a full-time permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has prior laboratory or practical science experience.
• Must be methodical, well organised and able to prepare resources accurately.
• Good communication with teachers and science staff is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratories, equipment and resources for practical lessons.
• Set up experiments and demonstrations; ensure labs are ready for teaching.
• Maintain stock, order chemicals/equipment and log usage.
• Monitor safety, store resources properly and dispose of waste.
• Support practical examinations and assist with demonstrations.
