Science (Biology) Technician

Job Ref: XS4.5a

Grade 5 SCP 5-6 - £12.85 to £13.05 per hour (Pay Award Pending)

37 hours per week

Term time plus 5 Staff Training Days - 39 Working Weeks

Required to start September 2025. We are seeking a Science Laboratory Technician to provide specialist technical support to teaching staff within the Science Laboratories. A specific knowledge of Biology is essential, although flexibility to work within other Sciences is also required.

You will:

1. Be familiar with the safe and proper use of specialist equipment and chemicals used in laboratories.
2. Have previous practical experience in a Science work area.
3. Be willing to learn new skills.
4. Have an awareness of health & safety requirements.
5. Possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team.

You will have:

1. A vocational or academic qualification in Science at NVQ Level 3 or above.
2. Specialist knowledge of Biology.
