Job summary

The Church of England is seeking a part-time (0.8) role, newly created to strengthen worship in schools and develop pupil leaders of worship. The post is fixed-term for three years and requires experience in education, with capacity to plan and deliver school projects across networks.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in the education sector.
• Ability to plan and deliver projects within schools.
• Clergy or lay person with a Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

• Support the Board of Education’s aim to ‘Live God’s Love in Education’ across schools.
• Promote educational excellence in a deeply Christian environment and foster spiritual development of children.
• Engage with day-to-day school work and with local, regional, and national organisations.
• Lead on staff training in schools, embedding pupil-led worship.
• Develop a peer network of volunteer chaplains via pilot programme bringing school placement and parish support.
• Develop and pilot a Living Covenant model to strengthen parish-school relationships.
