Our client, a specialist education setting, is seeking a compassionate Medical Welfare Officer to support pupils with complex needs. You will provide day-to-day medical care, administer prescribed medications, and liaise with healthcare professionals to keep medical plans current within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Based in Woodford Green, you will contribute to safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing, helping create a nurturing environment and promoting inclusive practices for all

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in SEND.
  • Good IT and administrative skills are required.
  • A caring, professional and proactive approach is important.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and day-to-day wellbeing support to pupils.
  • Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately.

  • Maintain safe storage and administration of medication and medical supplies.
  • Ensure first aid, seizures, moving and handling and feeding procedures are followed.

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicatedMedical Welfare Officerto join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with complex additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a caring nature who is passionate about promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As the Medical Welfare Officer, you will:

  • Provide medical care and day-to-day wellbeing support to pupils.
  • Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure medical plans are current and effective.
  • Attend medical reviews and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
  • Maintain the safe storage and administration of medication and medical supplies.
  • Ensure school procedures relating to first aid, seizures, moving and handling, and feeding are followed at all times.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.
