Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Salary: £29,180 - £31,737 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Located in Calderhead High School, Shotts you will provide a back-up service to the Science Department. Your duties will include servicing of Science Laboratories, construction of simple apparatus, maintenance of stock records, preparation of materials for class use, comply with Health and Safety legislation and general Science Technician duties.

You must possess an SVQ3, HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant science subject along with extended experience of working in a science environment with scientific equipment and knowledge of Science Health and Safety Legislation. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and work closely and responsibly with children. Possession of an HND or equivalent is desirable, as is possession of relevant qualifications in other areas i.e. Computing, Electronics, Electrical.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG) member prior to starting this post.
