School Support Worker - Special Education Needs

Location: Wickford, Essex

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Contract: Long-term to permanent contract

Salary: £88-£100 per day

SEND Experience: Essential

Onsite parking: Available

Start date: Role starting Immediately

Training: Excellent training provided

The Role

Are you a caring and adaptable individual with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of students with diverse needs?

Academics is currently seeking dedicated SEN Support Workers to join a specialist school in Wickford.

Role responsibilities include supporting students with a wide range of additional needs, including:

  • Physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
  • Autism, moderate learning difficulties (LD), dyslexia, and dyspraxia
  • Sight and hearing impairments
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised support for students, including assistance with mobility, feeding, and changing where required
  • Support pupils' learning, communication, and social development
  • Adapt approaches to meet individual learning and care needs
  • Build a nurturing, safe, and positive environment where all students can thrive
  • Engage learners in fun, creative ways - a drama or playful background is always a plus!
