Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a School Staff Nurse to join our School Nursing team, supporting children aged 5–19 across local communities. You will deliver preventative and early intervention services alongside SCPHNs, manage your own caseload, run health promotion sessions, and help families navigate care while promoting wellbeing and reducing health inequalities.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Main duties of the job

Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people? Join our School Nursing team and help shape healthier futures for children aged 5-19 across our communities.

Working alongside Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs), you'll deliver a wide range of preventative and early intervention services that support children, young people and their families to thrive.

No two days are the same. You'll manage your own caseload, deliver health promotion sessions, assess health needs, identify concerns early and support children with both complex and additional needs. You'll play a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles, emotional wellbeing, resilience, self-care and health literacy, while helping to reduce health inequalities and risk-taking behaviours.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Training and Experience

• You will have a Level 6 Degree or equivalent qualification, or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience plus a diploma in nursing
• You'll need to have recent experience of healthcare gained through education, work experience or previous employment.
• You will be a registered health care professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Full UK/EU driving licence

• You will need to have a customer focussed approach
• Provide patients, clients and their families with the best possible experience
• You will need to be able to be able to use IT systems and databases.
• You will understand where to signpost clients and families to alternative services to support behaviour change and improve health
