School Sports Coach

Prospero Teaching is currently working with an SEN School for pupils aged 4-19 with complex learning needs. The school sets high but realistic expectations for all students and encourages everyone to discover the joy of learning so that they may thrive, gain independence, and be given every opportunity to achieve their full potential.

As a Sports Coach, you will help students become as independent as possible in their daily lives, recognize and encourage them to thrive in all areas, and help them learn vital life skills. You should be an enthusiastic, energetic, and committed sports coach who will join a fantastic team.

We are looking for someone who:

• has the ability to challenge, motivate, and inspire young learners mentally and physically
• can work under pressure and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• is committed to safeguarding and equality
• is persevering, patient, and has a good sense of humour
• willing to work flexibly as the needs and demands of the school fluctuate
• has a nurturing nature to support and develop the wellbeing of all students
• can work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, parents and carers, colleagues, and the wider community
• Location – Bordon, Hampshire
• Position – Sports Coach
• Type of work – Key Stage 1 – 5 Support
• Contract or position start date – ASAP
• Contract or position end date – Ongoing
• Contract type – Temp to Perm
• Minimum rate of pay – £17 per hour
• Hours – 8:30 am – (please specify end time)

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex learning needs
• Previous sports coaching experience or similar
• Charismatic and confident leader capable of leading in front of children and adults
• Physically fit to lead daily physical activities for pupils aged 4 to 19
• Excellent verbal communication skills and experience with PECS and Makaton
• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
