Job summary

Godwin Junior School in Forest Gate, Newham, is seeking a Site Supervisor to maintain the school site and carry out health and safety checks, keeping accurate records. The role is permanent and part-time (33.75 hours per week), demanding reliability and the ability to work independently.

Visits are welcome. Shortlisting on 3 November 2026, interviews in the week commencing 9 November 2026, with start date as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in building/site maintenance or similar preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
• Full induction provided; school-based experience not essential.

Responsibilities

• Locking/unlocking of buildings and premises, including occasional out-of-hours work.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance on site.
• General repairs, maintenance and improvements.
• Fire alarm and water testing.
• Liaising with contractors and other agencies.
• Assisting with receipt, distribution, collection and dispatch of goods.
