Overview

We are a high-performing, inclusive secondary school and sixth form with a proud tradition of academic success and enrichment opportunities. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to support our vibrant Science Department. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical science, is well-organised, and wants to play a key part in supporting teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for science lessons, including practical experiments.

  • Ensure laboratories are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, organisation and safety.

  • Support teachers and students during practical work when required.

  • Manage stock levels of equipment and chemicals, placing orders as needed.

  • Maintain up-to-date records in line with Health & Safety regulations and school policies.

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.

The ideal candidate will have
  • A strong interest in science, with practical experience in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in a laboratory environment (training will be provided if needed).

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting both staff and students.
