Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking a Science Technician for a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. You will prepare equipment, support teachers with experiments, and ensure laboratories are well stocked and safe for lessons.

You will be organised, reliable and practical, capable of handling a varied workload and working both independently and as part of a team. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £24,450–£28,128 per annum and CPD opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons
• Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
• Ensuring laboratories and preparation areas are organised and maintained
• Safely handling, storing and preparing chemicals and scientific materials
• Maintaining and checking scientific equipment
• Ensuring practical activities meet health and safety requirements
• Managing stock and maintaining accurate records
• Troubleshooting practical and technical issues when required
• Working closely with teachers to ensure lessons run smoothly
• Supporting students in developing their practical science skills and understanding
