Location: Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: as soon as possible

Hours: 37 hours Per Week

7:00am-15:00pm (flexible)

Salary: £27,254 to £32,061 Depending on experience

About the Role

Complete Classroom Services are seeking a dedicated and proactive Premises Manager to join our team. You will take pride in your work, contribute to our school community, and uphold our values of excellence, respect, and resilience.

As Premises Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring our school is a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the school site, manage maintenance and cleaning staff, and ensure the premises are compliant with health and safety regulations.

To be responsible for ensuring the security of school buildings, site and resources. To act as a designated key holder, providing out of hours and emergency access to the school site. To arrange for general maintenance within specialist areas such as heating, lighting and plumbing to ensure safe and effective operation. To be responsible for the operation of the schools heating plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school site.
  • Manage health and safety checks and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Liaise with contractors and external providers to maintain high standards.
  • Supervise and support site staff, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance work as required.
  • Manage budgets, equipment, and resources effectively.
  • Support school events and activities through site preparation and logistics.
About You
  • Experience in facilities, estates, or premises management, ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Practical maintenance skills across a range of trades.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A flexible, proactive approach with good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
General Duties
  • To liaise with other staff on premises related matters, including the Trust premises team, premises assistant and cleaners.
  • To monitor utility usage, taking action to reduce expenditure where appropriate.
  • Porterage duties, including movement of furniture and equipment within the school.
  • To maintain records relating to the premises. To attend regular meetings with the Headteacher and Office Manager.
