Job summary

The Dean Trust is seeking an Estates Operative to provide practical day-to-day premises support across our schools. Based primarily at Lord Derby Hub & Park View Academy, you may also assist at Blacklow Brow Primary, helping maintain safe, secure, clean and welcoming learning environments for pupils and staff.

A hands-on role, it involves daily key-holding, basic DIY tasks, porterage, and logging routine compliance checks with Trust tablets.

Responsibilities

• Opening & Closing: act as keyholder for unlocking/locking buildings and gates to keep the site secure.
• Visitor & Contractor Access: manage site access, sign-ins, safeguarding checks and safe directions.
• Emergency Response: assist in incidents, intruder/fire alarm activations, weather-related actions.
• Routine DIY & Repairs: perform basic maintenance such as changing bulbs, fixing handles, simple carpentry.
• Grounds Maintenance: keep playgrounds and paths safe, clean, and hazard-free, including gritting in winter.
• Team Cover: based at Lord Derby Academy Hub, provide occasional support at other sites as directed.
