Job summary

Harris Garrard Academy in London is seeking a Premises Manager to lead the Premises Team, ensuring the upkeep, health and safety of the academy, with governance from the Estates Manager and Head of Academy. The role covers both primary and secondary sites.

The successful candidate will recruit, supervise contractors, oversee refurbishments and manage security and maintenance programmes, delivering high-quality facilities for teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
• Training in relevant Health and Safety requirements.
• Experience in one or more maintenance trades or facilities domains.
• Experience in managing premises budgets and procurement procedures.
• Experience of supervising a team and working with external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the premises team, including recruitment, performance management, and training.
• Supervise all work completed by outside agencies on the premises and grounds.
• Oversee refurbishments and maintain facilities within the team's capabilities.
• Ensure academy vehicles are maintained, serviced and cleaned.
• Provide technical support to teaching staff within the team's capability.
• Manage security during the academy day and out of hours.
• Oversee planned programme of maintenance and repairs of buildings.
• Ensure facilities for teaching and learning are of high quality.
• Manage community use and bookings of the premises.
