Job summary

South Hampstead High School is seeking a practical and proactive Caretaker to join our capable Site Team in London. The role is hands-on and focused on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will work closely with the Senior School Premises Manager, handling maintenance requests, minor repairs, contractor supervision, and event setup. Shift pattern runs from 6.30am to 6pm with some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone with good general maintenance and practical skills who takes pride in their work.
• You will be organised, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and carry out minor repairs.
• Undertake security and compliance checks and support contractors.
• Assist with set-up of school events and activities; porterage and grounds duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of communal areas.
