Job Description
As a PE Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the PE department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Equipment management: Maintaining, preparing, and setting up sports equipment and facilities for lessons and extracurricular activities.
- Support for PE Staff: Assisting PE teachers during lessons and events, including setting up and taking down equipment.
- Health and Safety: Ensuring all equipment and facilities meet health and safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Keeping an accurate inventory of all PE equipment and ordering new supplies as needed.
- Administrative Duties: Assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, and communication with students and parents.
- Event coordination: Supporting the organisation and execution of sports events, competitions, and school sports days.
Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the specific subject area.
- A full driving licence is desirable.
- A passion for sports and physical education.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
