Now Hiring: Office Manager for a Primary School in Great Barr. Join a caring and committed team shaping the future of Primary Education. Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced School Office Manager to work at a Primary School in Great Barr. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced office manager to join a friendly and enthusiastic team at a very exciting time.

About the Role

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and controlling (under supervision of the Headteacher), the financial administration and monitoring of the school budget. You will need strong administrative experience to perform secretarial duties within the school and to work alongside the Administrative Assistant. You will be responsible for the organisation of part time staffing such as lunch time supervisors, with the support of senior leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the central record, ensure that DBS clearances are up to date and logged appropriately along with all pre-employment checks so that the SCR is fully compliant with the current guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Work alongside the school administrative staff to assist them in the fulfilment of their responsibilities
  • Maintain budgetary records to include managing school funds
  • Generate orders, receiving goods, checking and processing invoices (using SIMS systems)
  • Control and collection, banking and disbursement of all official monies within the school in accordance with financial regulations
  • Compile and edit pupil records
  • Input and monitor confidential staffing information
  • Collate statistical and budgetary information and complete statutory and council returns
  • Oversee receipt of pay slips from couriers and distribution
  • Preparation of confidential reports, letters and minutes for the Headteacher
  • Preparation of meeting documents for SLT, Chair and Chair of Governors
  • Liaise with other departments and outside entities; site management, contractors, council
About you
  • NVQ Level 3 Administration/ Finance (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Arbor and IRIS is beneficial but not necessary
  • You must have experience in a school office environment, including school finance
  • Experience of systems such as SIMS, FMS, Word and Excel
  • Experience of clerical duties; email, good telephone manner
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (legal requirement)
