Job description

Office Manager

Position: Office Manager, 40 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time including CPD days + 15 holiday days)

Salary: £33,280 - £36,837 per annum, with an additional £1,000 Retention Bonus

St Joseph’s is seeking an experienced and efficient Office Manager to lead a small, dedicated office team on site. The role involves working closely with staff across the school and managing the Education Administration team to perform various administrative functions, maintain accurate records and databases, and support student review meetings. You will oversee event planning for students and families, ensure reception coverage, and provide support to the Executive Principal. The ideal candidate will prioritize effectively, work under pressure, and have strong interpersonal skills for working with families and external stakeholders. A proactive, hands-on approach is essential.

This is a full-time role: 8.15am - 4.45pm, Monday to Friday, over 39 weeks of term time plus CPD days, with an additional 15 days during school closure periods. The Office Manager is responsible for ensuring reception coverage during all school closure periods and CPD days, which may require providing cover personally. Overtime or additional holiday in lieu may be discussed at interview.

Compassion, patience, and empathy are vital, as students may visit the office. Successful applicants will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training during induction. Resilience, both physical and mental, is essential.

Why work at St Joseph’s? We offer:

  • 25 days holiday plus statutory public holidays
  • £1,000 Retention Bonus (£250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, £500 after 18 months)
  • Free hot lunch during term time
  • Free on-site parking
  • Confidential wellbeing and counselling support
  • Induction including Team Teach training (annual refresh)
  • Supportive professional network, including Mental Health First Aid and Occupational Health services
  • Located on a scenic 23-acre site in Cranleigh, near Horsham and Guildford

Own transport is desirable due to rural location. All employees are considered key workers.
