Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced clinical educator to lead the training of School Nurses and supervise SCPHN students within the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 service.

You will provide clinical leadership, deliver high-quality education in practice, assess learner competency, sign off students as Fit to Practice for the NMC Register, and drive evidence-based initiatives with evaluation and audit to improve child health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have SCPHN qualification (School Nursing) with Teaching in Practice module or equivalent.
• Experience training pre- and post-registration students and delivering the Healthy Child Programme 0-19.
• Ability to assess needs, implement evidence-based initiatives and evaluate outcomes.
• Will prescribe in line with the NMC code.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical education within practice to School Nursing teams delivering evidence-based practice.
• Support SCPHN students during training and address competency issues with documentation.
• Guide staff on competency issues and devise plans to address them.
• Assess and mark Public Health Students' learning outcomes as Fit for Practice.
• Engage with diverse families and communities to meet child health needs.
