The NHS is seeking a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) in Exeter. We are seeking registered School Nurses who are innovative, motivated, and enthusiastic, eager to make a tangible difference in outcomes for children and families in Devon. You will work within corporate teams and be rostered in the Single Point of Access Hub covering a specific geographical area. Support will be provided by team leaders and various dedicated health professionals, including Health Visitors, School Nurses, Staff Nurses, and Community Health Workers. Our goal is to deliver excellent service to children, young people, and families in our community.
You will lead and manage changing and challenging workload priorities. Working closely with community, voluntary, and statutory agencies; multi-agency collaboration and safeguarding children will be central to your role.
Please note that an active driver's license and access to a car are required for this position.
Effectively lead and deliver the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 0-19 (DH 2010) to improve outcomes for children and families.
Contribute to the Public Health Agenda, meet public health targets, and reduce health inequalities in partnership with key agencies, aligning with national agendas.
Promote child protection in accordance with Local Safeguarding Children Board policies and procedures.
Actively lead teams within Health Visiting, School Nursing, and partner agencies, such as Advisory Boards of Children's Centres.
Be rostered regularly in the hub within a defined geographical area to provide a single point of access for families and stakeholders, offering information, advice, and triaging referrals.
Work collaboratively to meet Key Performance Indicator targets set or negotiated by Local Area Teams/Commissioners, e.g., antenatal visits.
Support service development, standard setting, clinical audits, and benchmarking to deliver a high-quality, needs-led, safe, and effective service to all client groups.
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A disclosure check will be required through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to review any criminal convictions.
