Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a caring School Nurse for a Birmingham school. You will provide day-to-day medical care and health support to students, respond to illness and injury, and work closely with staff and parents to ensure safe participation.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing qualification and current NMC registration, with paediatric experience preferred. You will demonstrate excellent communication, safeguarding awareness and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Must hold nursing qualification and current NMC registration.
• Experience in healthcare; school nursing or paediatrics desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle safeguarding and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and respond to student illnesses and injuries.
• Assess health concerns and determine when further medical attention is required.
• Administer medication in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Support students with ongoing health conditions and individual care requirements.
• Communicate with parents, school staff and healthcare professionals where appropriate.
• Promote health, hygiene and student wellbeing across the school.
