Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a Band 6 School Nurse on a substantive full-time contract (36 hours per week) to work across the Shetland Islands, delivering the refocused school nursing role and supporting health screenings and immunisation delivery. You must be a Registered Nurse with at least two years post-registration experience and hold an SCPHN qualification.

Relocation assistance up to £8,000 is available, plus a Distant Island Allowance of £2,278 per annum, in a remote rural

The school nursing team in Shetland are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. Working across the whole of the Shetland Islands, you will play a key part in the delivery of the refocused school nursing role, as well as supporting health screenings and immunisation delivery.

Applicants should be a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of two years post registration experience and a SCPHN qualification.

As an experienced nurse, you will work in partnership with other professionals to improve the health and wellbeing of school aged children and young people, across the NHS Shetland locality, ensuring they are able to reach their full potential. An understanding of child protection policies and procedures are essential.
