Contract Type: Temporary/AgencyJob Summary:We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 School Nurse to join a dedicated Special School Nursing team in Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse to support children and young people with complex health needs in an educational setting.Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality nursing care to students with complex medical needs.
- Support with enteral feeding, medication administration, and epilepsy management.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Provide safeguarding support, escalating concerns appropriately and in line with policy.
- Liaise effectively with families, carers, education staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in care planning meetings, EHCP reviews, and multi-agency liaison.
- Promote health education and wellbeing across the school community.
Essential Requirements:- NMC Registration (Registered Children’s Nurse or Registered Nurse with relevant experience)
- Proven experience in Special School Nursing
- Competency in complex needs, enteral feeding, and medication administration
- Experience managing epilepsy and responding to emergency protocols
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies
- Skilled in care planning and clinical documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Desirable:- Previous NHS or Local Authority school nursing experience
- Training in epilepsy awareness, gastrostomy care, and manual handling
