Job summary

Kenton Primary School is seeking a reliable Minibus Driver to provide safe pupil transport from our Kenton and Cockwood Primary School to the afterschool club in Starcross. You will perform daily safety checks, ensure safe boarding and alighting, and promote a calm environment during journeys.

The role is part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year) with ongoing professional development and a focus on safeguarding and welfare of children.

Qualifications

• Must have a full clean driving licence with entitlement to drive a minibus (D1 category).
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
• Friendly, caring and patient approach to pupils.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the minibus on designated routes to transport pupils to the afterschool club.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks before and after journeys and report defects.
• Ensure pupils embark and disembark safely, following safeguarding procedures.
• Drive safely and responsibly in line with road traffic legislation and school policies.
• Support pupils to follow behaviour expectations during transit.
