Position Details

* Position: School Mental Health Assistant - SEMH Teaching Assistant

* Location: Bristol - BS1

* Salary: £83.33 - £96.15 per day, depending on experience

* Contract: Long Term, 5 days a week (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)

* Sector: Education and Training

Role Overview

This role offers an excellent stepping stone for those aiming for careers in Counselling, Mental Health, Wellbeing, Social Care, Youth Justice, or related fields. As a School Mental Health Assistant at a mainstream school in central Bristol, you'll play a crucial role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

What We're Looking For
  1. Educational Background: A degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred. Previous experience with SEN is highly desirable, particularly for Criminology and Psychology graduates.
  2. Passion for Mental Health: A strong interest in mental health, particularly in relation to SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
  3. Understanding of SEN: A keen interest or understanding of the diverse learning and behavioural needs within an SEN setting.
